Patient Safety Charter

At Larkham House Dental Practice, patient safety guides everything we do. It influences how we deliver care, set goals, develop procedures, and select products and equipment. We foster an open and supportive culture where our team can discuss challenges to improve patient care.

To ensure your safety, we:

• Follow the latest infection prevention guidelines from NHS England
• Use single-use dental instruments or sterilise equipment after each use
• Clean work areas, dental chairs, and frequently touched surfaces between patients
• Maintain strict personal hygiene standards, including wearing appropriate clinical clothing and limiting jewellery
• Monitor and disinfect dental unit waterlines to maintain water quality
• Handle and dispose of waste safely, following regulations
• Provide occupational health support to team members with blood-borne infections, ensuring safe treatment practices
• Train all staff in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, following and regularly reviewing safeguarding procedures

Clinical Governance and Continuous Improvement

We run a clinical governance system that manages risks and incidents carefully. Our goal is to continuously improve the quality of care and service we provide to you.

Practice Leadership and Support

The Practice Manager oversees all health and safety matters. Our team benefits from regular meetings, ongoing training, personal development, and appraisals.
