Although most tooth extractions are completed without any complications, there may be rare occasions where problems arise during an extraction.
At Modbury Dental Practice, we offer minor surgical extractions for failed or complex tooth removal cases—all from the comfort of our own clinic.
While most tooth extractions are straightforward, complications can occasionally occur.
Sometimes, a tooth may fracture during removal. In other cases, the tooth might be too firmly embedded or positioned in a way that makes it difficult to extract fully.
If an extraction becomes too complex or falls outside the scope of a general dentist, patients are usually referred to secondary care.
This often involves a trip to a local hospital for a minor surgical extraction.
Hospital referrals typically come with a long wait—sometimes several weeks.
However, at Modbury Dental Practice, we aim to see patients within just 7 days. That means less time waiting and faster relief from pain or discomfort.
Choosing to have your minor surgical extraction done at our practice means you receive timely, skilled care without the stress of a hospital visit.
You’ll be treated by a team you know, in a setting you trust.
We are now offering an Advanced Dentistry Referral Service from dental colleagues or from patients themselves for a failed or complex tooth extraction.
We aim to see patients within 7 days of receiving the referral.
